Abstract

The independent and autonomous economy is a core factor that ensures the sustainable and stable development of each nation, especially in the context of deep international integration. To reinforce and enhance the independent and autonomous economy, new approaches for economic development in which innovation economic growth models that align with the current new context are necessary. The relationship between innovating the economic growth model and building an independent and autonomous economy is one of the virtually strategic issues for sustainable development in Vietnam because this economic growth model not only serves as an inspiration for developing an independent and autonomous economy but also provides a solid foundation for Vietnam to proactively, effectively, and sustainably integrate into the international arena. This article highlights that a key issue in innovating the economic growth model is enhancing labor productivity, total factor productivity (TFP), and expanding and diversifying international relations in the context of regional and global integration. This study also presents fundamental achievements associated with the process of building and ensuring an independent and autonomous economy. Therefore, in the new context, innovating the growth model—both in terms of internal resources and external factors—is essential to strengthen adaptability and enhance the effectiveness of an independent and self-reliant economy.
